2-Day Private Tour to the Tatacoa Desert from Bogotá

Get an early start on the day with 6am pickup at your accommodations in Bogotá, then begin the trip to the Tatacoa Desert in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. The drive takes roughly five hours, and you’ll pass through the scenic department of Tolima, which spans the parallel spines of the Colombian Andes. Stop along the way to try some local cuisine, such as suckling pig or Tolimese tamales. The city of Villavieja is the gateway to the Tatacoa Desert, and you can tour the local paleontology museum to see fossils and bones from the desert, including dinosaurs and giant caimans.
