Why take this tour?

A tour through fabled Stone Town also known as Mji Mkongwe (Swahili for "old town), where history appears to stand still. Located on the western coast of Unguja, the main island of the Zanzibar Archipelago. This World Heritage Site, is famous as a former capital of the Zanzibar Sultanate, and flourishing centre of the spice trade as well as the slave trade in the 19th century. This guided walk through colourful and alternating town with our knowledgeable guide(s) who knows funny, but also cruel stories to give a balanced picture of Stone Town’s history a visit to an Anglican Cathedral of Christ (a former Slave market chambers), House of Wonders, the Palace Museum (People's Palace), Darajani Market, St Joseph’s Catholic Cathedral, Dr Livingston's House and the Old Fort amongst others.
