Begin your tour at a location near Amsterdam’s Central Station. Meet your guide and group, and then board your private minibus, setting off to Zaanse Schans, a recreated windmill village to the north of the capital. Visit a range of different mills and gain insight into the country’s industrial history.
Next, travel to the fishing village of Volendam and tour its harbor, dike, and typical green timbered buildings. Pose for a snap in a traditional Dutch outfit, and pause for lunch in a local restaurant (own expense).
Afterward, do a cheese tasting at a nearby factory in Waterland, sampling some proper Dutch cheese, and visit a wooden shoe factory to watch the process of clog carving. Take the opportunity to savor some Dutch schnapps, before visiting the traditional villages of Monnickendam and Broek on the journey back to Amsterdam.
