We will explore the heart of the Mixteca, knowing the wonderful viceregal architecture, through the temples and former Dominican convents.
Our first stop is in Santo Domingo Yanhuitlán, where its majestic 16th century Dominican Temple stands out, considered a national heritage, has a height of 25 meters, a width of 15 and a length of 75 meters.
Next stop is San Pedro and San Pablo Teposcolula, the complex is made up of the open chapel, the temple and the conventual house or cloister. The open chapel also called Capilla de Indios, is the highest pride of Teposcolula. It was occupied during the first centuries, for the evangelization of the first Mixtecs, who in great multitude occupied the atrium.
To finish we will visit San Juan Bautista Coixtahuaca, located in the eastern Upper Mixteca, exceeding 2,000 meters of altitude. The church on the outside, shows smooth walls that allow you to see the pillar chair perfectly cut and united.
