- Please note that to reach the first level of the mine (64 meters underground), You have to descent a wooden stairway which has 378 stairs. After the tour, You will be taken up to the surface with a lift.
- Temperature in the Salt Mine is approximately 14 degrees C (57 degrees F), please wear warm clothes and comfortable shoes.
- Please note that this tour is not available on: 25th of December, 1st of January, Easter Saturday afternoon, Easter Sunday.

Not worth the premium price
The Wieliczka Salt Mine itself was excellent and our guide, Joanna, was outstanding. She spoke excellent English and gave us an entertaining, engaging and very informative tour. She really added to the experience and we would have no hesitation recommending her. Our driver collected us promptly in a comfortable Mercedes minivan and was courteous and professional, although he did not engage in conversation. Given the premium price of the tour, we would also have appreciated a small bottle of water being provided. There were, however, some significant shortcomings considering the price we paid. The Viator description specifically states “Skip the ticket line – the tickets are pre-booked.” Despite this, on arrival we were asked to wait in the queue. This was disappointing and not what we understood we were paying for. The other problem came at the end of the tour. Having ascended from the mines by lift, we emerged at a different location from where we had started. We were then left to find our way back to the car park to meet our driver. The directions were far from clear, and this made what should have been a straightforward end to the tour unnecessarily confusing. Overall, the Salt Mine tour itself was excellent, primarily because of Joanna, but we felt that the significant premium paid for a private tour was not justified by the additional service provided. The “skip the line” element did not appear to be delivered as advertised, and the arrangements at the end of the tour were poorly organised.

Heard mixed feedback on this- it was a must visit- really enjoyed and great visit- we had fabulous guide renatta- fascinating- lots of stairs so don't do if not able
Great Experience at the Wieliczka Salt Mine
Our visit to the Wieliczka Salt Mine was incredible. My photos of the underground chambers, sculptures, and chapel don’t even capture how impressive it all is in person. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the history and stories of the mine really engaging. The driver was also very friendly and made the whole trip smooth and stress‑free. A fantastic experience overall and highly recommended.
Salt mines and transport Mr shuttle
The salt mines where fabulous,and the driver was lovely with Mr shuttle, traffic was busy but she got through with no problems and we got to be the first group which was great.
