Departing in the morning or afternoon, the whale watching adventure takes you into the expansive Faxaflói Bay for approximately 2-3.5 hours. Here, you will have the chance to spot magnificent Minke and Humpback whales, playful dolphins, elusive Harbour porpoises, and even rare Killer whales. The journey is complemented by scenic coastal views of Reykjavik’s breathtaking mountains, picturesque islands, and vibrant bird life. As the day transitions into night, the adventure continues with our northern lights spectacle. Departing at 9pm or 10pm, this 2-3 hour tour offers you a unique perspective of the Aurora Borealis from the sea, far from the city lights, maximizing your chances to witness this natural wonder. Northern Lights is a natural activity governed by the laws of the weather. In case of no sightings, you can join for free the next available day.
Please note that, depending on your chosen starting time, the tour is split into two parts; whale watching in the morning and Northern Lights at night.
