Choose a morning or afternoon departure, and begin with a pickup from your hotel located within an approximate 12-mile (20-kilometer) radius of Playa de las Américas.
Then, travel by private, air-conditioned vehicle to the marina jetty where your private yacht awaits. Meet your friendly skipper and step aboard the beautifully fitted 40-foot (12.19-meter) sailing yacht. The vessel carries up to 11 passengers, and boasts ample deck space, together with a luxurious saloon cabin, kitchenette, and other amenities.
Once settled aboard, enjoy your first views of Playa de las Américas from the water as you cruise onto the open Atlantic. Your skipper will chart a course to areas known for whale and dolphin sightings. As you cut through the waves, absorb the sea breezes and sunshine, and admire the views over Tenerife’s golden beaches, cliffs, and dark, brooding mountains.
Keep a lookout for wildlife, watching for the pilot whales that are present in the local waters year-round, as well as dolphins and sea turtles, all in their natural habitat. Get as close to the wildlife as possible without disturbing them, and enjoy the sightings without the distractions or obstructions that can come with the crowds on shared boats.
Along the way, savor a glass of Champagne, and unlimited wine, beer, sodas, and bottled water from the open bar, plus assorted light snacks.
During your cruise, your skipper will drop anchor, allowing you to plunge into the seas for a swim. If you wish, make use of the onboard snorkel gear to explore the underwater world, perhaps viewing sea turtles and other marine life close up.
