Walking Tour Salto do Cabrito

From Ponta Delgada, after having collected our customers, we will travel to the Caldeiras da Ribeira Grande where we will start and finish our circular walking tour to the beautiful waterfall of Salto do Cabrito.

In the Thermals of the Ribeira Grande, we take the opportunity to appreciate the place, where its possible to see some fumaroles and the Thermal house of the City Ribeira Grande, as well the area ,where some regional dishes are made in Volcanic soil, then we will walk along a path lined by Cryptomes, to the old hydroelectric power station of Fajã do Redondo (deactivated), we cross a metallic bridge, where we will be accompanied by a small river, which leads us to the beginning of the waterfall.

After descending a steep metallic stairs, we come across the Salto do Cabrito Hydroelectric Power Plant (active), which indicates the beautiful Salto do Cabrito Waterfall (photo), height to appreciate its beauty where we can see the splendor of the Salto do Salto Cabrito, with 40m of height, presenting crystalline waters that invite us to baths.

On this Walking tour to the Salto do Cabrito Waterfall, we will take you to visit one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the island of São Miguel, located in the central area of the island of São Miguel, we will take the opportunity to explore some of the natural fauna and flora and get to know the Caldeiras da Ribeira Grande which is also a place rich in volcanic activity, due to its fumaroles there.

In a circular route, of medium difficulty, we will make known to our customers, the dam of the Salto do Cabrito hydroelectric power station, the old and the new hydroelectric power station, where we will cross small forests rich in cryptomeria, metal bridges, streams and know the area where the Geothermal power plants on the island of São Miguel are installed.
