Wachau World Heritage Hike

Summary Description

We will hike the World Heritage Trails around the charming medieval village of Spitz. It is a pleasant 3-hour hike (depending on individual speed), up and down through vineyards, forests with stone oaks and pine trees, passing by beautiful rock formations and enjoying amazing views on the river Danube. In the end, we will visit a traditional wine tavern ("Heuriger") or inn and try local food and wine of the region, if you wish (optional).

This tour was created for people who want to be close to nature, slow down and discover the landscape by walking. We will be far away from the crowds, walking the hidden paths and silent forest trails. Let me show you the magic and hidden beauties of this natural treasure.

After a short public bus ride back to our starting point, we continue our journey back to Vienna. Total travelling time from/to Vienna is approx. 2,5 hours.

About operator:

Hi, I'm Karin. I'm the founder of Das Leben Spüren - Embrace Life, an outdoor activity organiser, offering guided hiking tours and excursions for travellers, expats and locals. Already before that, I voluntarily organised similar trips for a global expat network. I'm a professional hiking guide and have a master in tourism & leisure management. I love meeting people from all over the world as much as I love nature. Combining both and showing travellers the natural beauties of my home country is what I enjoy most. Besides my passion for nature and exploring new trails, I love yoga, photography, gardening, fashion and delicious food. I was born and raised in Vienna, but lived, studied and worked in foreign countries, such as UK, Italy, France, US and Germany. On my tours, I invite participants to be present at the moment by finding joy and contentment in the sheer beauty of nature, rather than boring them with facts and figures.
