Why take this tour?

Embark on this shore excursion and visit the best places at the NorthWest oF Madeira in a 4x4 vehicle with a open top roof. We will take you to the Western part of Madeira passing thru deep valleys, taking you up to 1500 meters high. You will get information and history about the views, native forest, fauna flora, meet the madeiran water aqueducts "levadas" and learn more about them. Please bring some comfortable shoes as we may have a 15 minutes walk to learn more about the "levadas". We will pass the Madeira plateau, the only flat area in this island, and then drive to Porto Moniz where you will visit the vulcanic lava pools. If the weather slows, you can swim at the volcanic polls. The lunch is optional, and has a cost of €12.00 per person for a 3 meal course with beverage and coffee. On the way back, you will have stunning views cliff's and waterfalls, and we will have a stop where you can try our famous "nectar" poncha, one of our local drinks.

Green Devil Safari

About operator:

Green Devil Safari was created for the benefit of the traveller who wants to explore and mingle with locals, eager for unique and tailor-made experiences. With a unique pre-historic forest, a true relic of ancient nature; with an average altitude of 1300 meters, rugged terrain, deep valleys, massive mountains, micro-climates, added to these: an impressive network of beaten tracks crossing dense forests, secular cobblestone paths almost seeming to extend into to oblivion, connecting villages where time stood still. It makes sense to travel in a 4x4 open top jeep with professional, experienced, knowledgeable, friendly guides, always in a good mood with smiley faces. We, the drivers/guides want to take you to secret places which even locals seldom know; we love to see your reaction, your awed expression because we want you to return to Madeira and maybe bringing friends. Our goal is to make yourselves honorary Madeirans and pass on the love we have for this Island.
