Visiting Dujiangyan Wolong Panda Base Optional Volunteering

The day begins with pickup from your Chengdu hotel for the journey to Dujiangyan Panda Base and Center for Disease Control. On arrival, greet the staff, change into your volunteer clothes, and learn about the center’s history and mission: to rescue wild pandas and help control disease.

Around 40 giant pandas live on the base. Spend the day preparing panda food, cleaning the pandas' enclosures, and feeding them snacks, while you learn about their biology and social habits, as well as what more you can do to help preserve this endangered species. On your break, enjoy a traditional Sichuan buffet lunch and try the panda tea. Once the day’s work is finished, head back to your original departure point.

Note: it is prohibited to hold or touch the pandas.
