Verona E-Bike City Tour

Ana was a wonderful guide, and her excellent English and familiarity with Americans made communicating with her effortless as she guided us through Verona’s Arena, ancient gates, piazzas, Ponte Pietra and up toward Castel San Pietro. I especially appreciated her guidance about Juliet’s balcony, and Ana, if you read this, I managed to get a ticket the very next morning to see the balcony from the courtyard. She made the history approachable without overwhelming us, and the e-bikes were a fantastic way to cover so much of Verona while still feeling connected to the city.

What a great way to see Verona! After wandering around Verona on foot during our first evening, we decided to book a morning bike tour with a guide to get an overview of the city. This tour appeared to have the greatest range, covering the old town while also crossing the river and heading up the hill for a broad view of the city. Our guide, Massimo, first fitted everyone on the bikes. Then we set off to explore the old town. He did a great job safely shepherding our small group through the streets and bringing us to several points of interest in the historic city center. The e-bikes were comfortable and very easy to learn; I actually did not need to engage the assist until we started climbing the hill across the river. Then I became a big fan of e-bikes! Massimo gave us the history of each stop, and we had plenty of time to ask questions and take pictures. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and highly recommend Massimo (a lifelong resident) as a guide. I would consider it a “must-do” for a first-timer in Verona.

Our guide Massimo was fantastic! This was a great way to get an orientation of Verona, learning the layout of the historic areas, along with the architecture and history.
