Wonderful!
I’m visiting Puerto Vallarta with life-long friends. We enjoyed the food tour so much. The tacos and treats were DELICIOUS! Joanna was the best tour guide and I would definitely recommend this tour.
It's so good and worth every cent!
This is my third tour with Vallarta Food Tours and it gets better each time! The Vallarta by Road tour was fantastic. My cruise ship was finally there on a day they offered it and I jumped at the chance to do it. The places we went were absolutely amazing and delicious. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and did a fantastic job. I can't wait to be back and take another tour!
Delicious entertaining day!
Bernardo was absolutely the cherry on the cake for this tour!! We enjoyed the six restaurants on the list, including our last stop for homemade ice cream! Each restaurant included an interesting story told by Bernardo, the origin of the food, how the owner(s) came to be in Puerta Vallarta and introduced us to the “proper” way to eat the delicious food! (In fact, when we asked about how to eat one of the offerings, Bernardo said there is no proper way to eat the food, just enjoy it!) We saw several tortilla factories and came to know how women finally got to vote - all in all a perfect day for us!! Thank you!!!
Terrific insider food tour of Puerto Vallarta
Bernardo took us to 6 different long-time family owned businesses across the different neighborhoods of PV. All the stops were delicious, from the lamb barbacoa tacos served birria style to the pork belly tacos with chicharron and pickled onions to the homemade sorbet and ice cream. Shrimp tacos served with hibiscus margaritas (drinks other than water are included in the price) were a big hit with all of us. Really fun to see how tortillas are made at an open air tortilleria, and to taste them hot off the flattop - so tender! In the summer heat, it was a pleasure to drive from location to location in a super clean and comfortable air-conditioned van...and Bernardo had a wealth of knowledge about PV's history and neighborhoods. Terrific day!
If you are a foodie or just love food, this is a must!
Wonderful experience. Our guide Bernardo was terrific and very accommodating helping my husband who has a little trouble walking. Loved the variety of tacos. This was not just taco Tuesday in the states. You really get to experience the wide and delicious cuisine of Mexico. Highly recommend. We will do another tour when we return in a few months.
