Tugboat and Reef Snorkel Tour in Curacao
All snorkeling gear provided and expertly fitted by the guide
Water, lemonade, and snacks to refresh travelers between stages of the tour
Enjoy convenient hotel pickup and drop-off in Willemstad
After morning pickup at your hotel, head to Caracas Bay, where you’ll receive a safety orientation and get properly fitted for snorkel equipment. At your first spot, explore the waters around a 30-foot (9-meter) tugboat, scuttled on a reef and left for marine life to colonize for decades. You’ll see moray eels, trumpetfish, and angelfish, plus Christmas tree worms that have taken over the boat’s wheelhouse . Proceed to a lesser-known snorkeling spot, where you’ll jump into the gentle water to seek out camouflaged seahorses in the shallow bay’s coral. Supervision from a guide makes this tour perfect for beginner snorkelers. Next you’ll be driven to Fort Beekenburg, where you’ll walk around the historic building and hear guide commentary about its history. Take in views of Spanish Water harbor from the surrounding bluffs, snap some photos, and climb back into the tour vehicle for return to your hotel.
Why take this tour?
Go snorkeling at two of Curacao's top sites, and see historic Fort Beekenburg, on a single tour. As you’ll reach both spots by land, this tour is great for those who get seasick and don't want to head far out to sea on a boat. Hear guide commentary as you snorkel safely at a reef and a submerged tugboat, and avoid the hassle of driving with hotel pickup and drop-off.
