Truffle hunting starting from Alba

Discover the secrets, the traditional techniques in a true hunting of the precious white or black truffle with a professional "Trifolao" and his inseparable dog.

Understand how, where & why truffles grow up in our area, learn the differences between black & white truffle, enjoy the intense & costant scent, understanding the degree of ripening of a truffle by your nose.

In Piemonte we can find truffle all the year round: each season have its type of truffle so a different flavour, smell and different recipes.

Truffles found during the hunting are not included in the price (nobody is obliged to buy them).

We suggest sporty and comfortable clothing (in case of rain, don’t’ worry, we have boots for you).

Transportation is not included (all roads are suitable for your car, don’t worry!).

You will meet our Guide at Alba train station, then you will be led up the surrounding Langhe's hills to admire the striking view, walking through it, enjoying the nature & of course looking for truffle!!

The tour usually is shared with other guests; travelling alone & reserving for one we required. € 50 as extra by cash directly the day of the tour (not in case someone joins that tour).

I'm a professional truffle hunter from 3 generations in Alba. My grandfather after 2nd world war was one of the first truffle hunting/seller in Alba,he taught to my father all the secrets about the precious "ipogean fungus" then my father taught it to me.i'm a dog trainer & actually i've got 3 great dogs: Stella, Kelly & Perla. I would like to teach "some"of my truffle hunting segrets to travellers. During the tour you will helped by my friend Margherita. She's an official tourist guide Cuneo province with great passion for truffles and wine providing to translate every part of the hunting.
