Truffle Hunt & Barolo Tasting

Discover the secrets, the traditional techniques in a true hunting of the precious white or black truffle with a professional "Trifolao" and his inseparable dog.

Understand how, where & why truffles grow up in our area, learn the differences between black & white truffle, enjoy the intense & costant scent, understanding the degree of ripening of a truffle by your nose.

You will meet our Guide at Alba train station, then you will be led up the surrounding Langhe's hills to admire the striking view, walking through it, enjoying the nature & of course looking for truffle!!

Then after hunt you will have a wine tasting in a typical family's conduction cellar where you will taste their great wines as Barolo, Barbera, arneis, tasting typical & local product as salame cheese and grissini.

WHITE TRUFFLE HUNTING SEASON from 30th September until 31st January

BLACK TRUFFLE HUNTING SEASON from 1st February until 29th September.

The tour usually is shared with other guests; travelling alone & reserving for one we required € 50 as extra by cash directly the day of the tour( not in case someone joins that tour).

I'm a professional truffle hunter from 3 generations in Alba. My grandfather after 2nd world war was one of the first truffle hunting/seller in Alba,he taught to my father all the secrets about the precious "ipogean fungus" then my father taught it to me.i'm a dog trainer & actually i've got 3 great dogs: Stella, Kelly & Perla. I would like to teach "some"of my truffle hunting segrets to travellers. During the tour you will helped by my friend Margherita. She's an official tourist guide Cuneo province with great passion for truffles and wine providing to translate every part of the hunting.
