Triglav Hut to Hut

On this adventurous hike, you will ascend Slovenia’s highest mountain, venture through the unbelievably beautiful Triglav Lakes Valley, witness nature’s imaginative creations, and sleep in authentic mountain huts.

This hut-to-hut hiking tour starts at picturesque Bohinj. The first day is spent hiking in the heart of Triglav National Park. As we head deeper into the mountains, the terrain changes and stunning views open up. We make our way past the famous Vodnik Lodge and up to the Planika Lodge near Mount Triglav where we spend the night. The following day, it’s time to conquer Slovenia’s highest mountain. This is the most technically demanding leg of our journey, but that’s why we have our professional guide, who will make sure everyone feels safe and secure. From Triglav, it’s time to descend into the magical Triglav Lakes Valley also called the Seven Lakes Valley because of the lovely lakes that reside there. We hike through this breathtakingly scenic place to the Triglav Lakes Lodge where a well-deserved night’s rest awaits. On the third day, we return via the vast Komna Plateau towards the Savica Waterfall and back to Bohinj.

This fantastic journey is packed with some of the best panoramic views of the Julian Alps and their hidden valleys with gorgeous glacial lakes. You might even get to meet the local wildlife population, like the chamois or ibex. The trails are not too demanding and are suitable for amateur hikers, however, a relatively high level of physical fitness is advisable, especially for the Mt. Triglav ascent. You will get to taste authentic mountain hut food and feel that special type of freedom which comes along with hiking, sleeping and waking up high in the Alps.
