Why take this tour?
On the day of the ceremony, the groom is dressed in a traditional Nepali wear ‘Daura suruwal’ with ‘Tika’ in the forehead, flower and ‘Dubo’ grass garland in the neck and ‘Khukuri’ in the waist. And the bride is dressed in red coloured saari-cholo, chura, tika, and is decorated with golden ornaments and precious gems. The groom accompanied by ‘Jantis’ (groom’s friends and family) go to the marriage venue dancing in the traditional music from ‘Panche Baaja’ (typical Nepali musical instrument). The bride and groom sit nearby the sacred fire and follow enchants of Pundit (Holy Priest). The whole ritual goes according to Holy Vedas. The priest ties two white clothes making a knot (lagan Gatho). The knot resembles a lifelong relationship. Finally, the groom puts ‘Sindoor’ (vermilion powder) in the forehead of the bride, and both accept each other as the husband and wife for eternity.
