Enjoy an extraordinary stay in Naoshima, the inland sea island of Seto known for its museums of modern art, architecture and sculptures. If you love contemporary art, this trip is for you!
You will have the opportunity, for 3 days, to literally live in the heart of this emblematic movement.
Indeed, for a bit of history, much of the art of Naoshima has been installed by the Benesse Corporation, which oversees art museums, installations and sculptures in Naoshima and the neighboring islands. The museums of Bénesse were designed by the famous Japanese architect Ando Tadao. The buildings and municipal schools of Naoshima, meanwhile, were designed by modern architect Ishii Kazuhiro. The island is the main venue for the Setouchi Triennale art festival.
During your surprising stay, take the opportunity to spend a half day at Teshima which, like Naoshima, has become an exciting destination for contemporary art in recent years.
