Why take this tour?

The Private Reykjavik Brewery & Beer Tasting Tour is a unique experience that allows visitors to learn about the process of brewing and the history of Microbrewing in Iceland.

A comfortable car and an excellent local driver guide will take you on this experience, so the only thing you need to take care of is indulging in the knowledge and drinks provided while on tour.

The tour either starts with a visit to Malbygg Microbrewery, where guests will learn about the brewing history in Iceland, the brewing process, and the different types of beer produced at the brewery. Guests can then sample some of the best beers produced on-site.

Next or sometimes starts,  the tour moves on to RVK Brewing, where guests will continue to learn about the history of beer in Iceland, the brewing process, and the different types of beers produced at that distinguished microbrewery.   Guests will also be able to sample different types of beers from each brewery in their taprooms.

Throughout the tour, guests will learn about the local ingredients used to make the microbrews and gain insight into the unique challenges of making beer in Iceland's harsh climate.  The tour is an excellent opportunity for beer and spirit enthusiasts to learn more about the local brewing scene in Iceland and to sample some of the unique and delicious products produced in the country.

After the tour has concluded and you have a happy buzz, your friendly driver guide will drop you off at your hotel or the next excellent bar if your soul tells you to do that.

Malbygg Microbrewery was established in 2017; Their focus has been on brewing beers they want to drink themselves, but they are always open to experimenting and constantly trying to improve their beers. They mostly brew hoppy beers but also kettle-soured beers, stouts, and wild/sour ales.

RVK Brewing Company was born out of a pure and simple passion for good beer. After working for years in the New York City finance sector, our founder Siggi found his true passion. Good Beer. And making it. And spreading out the word about good beer in Iceland. Beer was only allowed in Iceland in the late eighties. Until then, we could only have it abroad or have it smuggled into the country, and the first beers to arrive were just ok. So the story of craft beer here is pretty short. We want to write some of the following chapters in it. The ingredients are all here. The passion is all here.
