Departing from Florence aboard a luxury van, we make our way to the nearby hillside where a fleet of state-of-the art Vespas await and the fun begins. Helmets on, all off for an exciting day on the road! In the company of an expert local guide, drive your own Vespa along the quiet, cypress-lined country roads of the Chianti area while taking in the magnificent scenery.

We’ll start with some standard safety protocols and a test drive in the safety of our dedicated space. Once you feel at ease and confident … whizz off, following your local guide!

Enjoy the fresh country breeze on you as you admire the rolling fields dotted with olive groves, tiny ancient parish churches and typical Tuscan farmhouses. Take in the beauty of prominent vineyards and stop along the way for photo ops before a lovely visit to a famous local winery. Explore the wine cellars and learn all about wine production techniques from the experts.

Drive on along flower-filled meadows and reach the charming boutique winery where you’ll enjoy a typical Tuscan lunch (or dinner). Relish the unique simplicity of seasonal local specialties, learn about the estate's approach to winemaking and savor the best, with a guided tasting of the estate wine and olive oil.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOOKING:

To book a VESPA for one person choose the "SINGLE" option

To drive a Vespa with a second passenger choose the "DOUBLE" option

To book an E-VESPA for one person choose the "Eletric Vespa" option

This tour is conducted using original Piaggio 50cc scooters: the authentic Vespa (with NO gears). We also provide Ape Calessino (3 wheeled Vespa, driven by a tour leader) as an alternative if you do not feel comfortable driving (contact for more information).

Mileage Covered: about 19 miles round-trip (30 kms)

Terrain: Mostly paved country roads with little traffic.

Difficulty: Easy. Average speed 25 km/h (15 mls/h). Van support always guaranteed in case of unforeseen difficulty.

A valid driver's license is required (you must have it with you) and you must be at least 18 years of age. However, you do not need a motorcycle license. If you do not feel comfortable driving, you can choose to ride as a passenger with your partner.

Please remember, tours depart promptly at the scheduled time, while public transport throughout Italy can be unreliable. No refunds may be given for failure to arrive at the meeting point on time.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Suitable for vegetarians! (please inform us in advance).
A valid driver's license is required (you must have it with you). However, motorcycle license is NOT required.

Previous experience is not required but advantageous and highly advised.

SAFETY INFORMATION:
We reserve the right of final decision as to whether a client will drive the scooter or be driven as a passenger, or to discontinue scooter use at any point of the tour. Any participant unable to drive a scooter safely may ride double with a partner, or on the guide’s scooter if available or continue the tour on board one of our support vehicles (the Tuscany Tuk Tuk or the minivan) if unable to be a safe passenger as well. NO REFUNDS will be granted in this case. OUR FIRST AND FOREMOST CONCERN IS EVERYONE’S SAFETY.
This tour option entitles client to ride the original PIAGGIO VESPAs, but PIAGGIO ZIP scooters (which are lighter and easier to ride) are available.
A THIRD-PARTY insurance for civil liability is INCLUDED in the price of the tour. Please note that clients will be given the option to opt for an additional insurance against vehicle damages.
Please let us know in advance of any special circumstances or impaired mobility and we will do our best to accommodate them.

RAIN POLICY:
The tour runs rain or shine (but please see below). This tour by Vespa will never be cancelled due to rain.
We will do our best to proceed with the tour, avoiding the rain and thus possibly carrying out the tour with our van until and if the rain should stop and street conditions will guarantee a safe ride. If it does not stop raining, the entire tour will be conducted in the safety and comfort of the van.
Guest options on rainy days:
1) Proceed with the tour hoping for clearing weather - with the understanding that no refund or discount will be given if Vespas are not ridden due to rain, or if the tour is abbreviated due to rain. We will do our best to get you on a Vespa, weather permitting.
2) Rain check (for the value of the tour) to be used the following day or at any other time, subject to availability. The voucher is transferable and valid for 1 year for this tour or a selection of other Florence Tours
Please note that clients' safety and comfort are of utmost priority, and proper rain gear is mandatory for guests choosing to "ride in the rain".
We ask clients to be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour departure, to check the weather conditions and choose accordingly. No-shows will not be refunded.
