The Essential Food Tour of Boston's North End

Summary Description

Welcome to Off The Eaten Path Tours. I want to invite you to experience one of America's most incredible urban neighborhoods, through the perspective of it's food, wine culture, small markets, and back alleys. Boston's North End is not only the city's oldest neighborhood, it is also the largest "Little Italy" in the United States. I have created a tour to tantalize the senses, and take you on a journey not just through it's streets, but also up and down the peninsula of Italy itself. If you love history, food, Italian culture, wine, architecture, and urban design, then this tour is for you. I promise that Off the Eaten Path Tours will be the most fascinating and original tours you have ever been on.

  • Gelato
  • Artisan bread

Description

The North End boasts more restaurants, bakeries, and specialty food stores then any other neighborhood in Boston. The options are dizzying, and being a long-time local myself, eating and shopping here on a daily basis, I can guide you off the beaten path and onto a delicious journey of food served in unique, locally-owned establishments. I believe that a food tour should be a striking harmony of a neighborhood's cuisine, history, and architecture. And in a neighborhood as colorful and steeped in history as Boston's North End -- America's most vibrant "Little Italy" -- you'll experience great fun just by being a part of it all. Join Off the Eaten Path Tours as I uncover the fabled past of this old world neighborhood, and experience firsthand what it means to be a "North Ender." There will be no Mike's Pastry, or Pizzeria Regina on this tour. I want to take to places that locals actually eat in. On this tour we will live "La Dolce Vita" and enjoy the art of good eating, in good company, Italian style.
