Why take this tour?

Experience the history of the Second Mexican Empire like a Mexican soap opera with this unique audio walk that tells you the tragic love story of the Emperor Maximilian of Habsburg and the Empress Carlotta. The Chapultepec Castle was built in 1785 but 80 years after its construction, the emperors of Mexico arrived. This soundwalk is narrated by a telenovela producer, Adela Salinas. Let your imagination fly as you listen to the 3D sound effects and the narration of one of the most famous love stories in Mexican history. As you discover the premise and antiques inside the castle, you will learn about the Battle of Chapultepec and the hall of carriages, among other historical facts. Adela will tell the tragic love story filled with betrayal and passion in a unique "soap opera" style, up to the moment the couple is taken out of the castle by the troops of Benito Juarez. The tour ends as you learn the tragedy of Carlotta going mad, and Maximilian all alone in Mexico.
