Begin your tour with morning pickup from your Krakow hotel. Following a journey through the natural landscapes of Silesian Upland and Krakowsko–Częstochowska Upland, you’ll arrive at the Jasna Gora Monastery, home to the revered Black Madonna of Częstochowa, or the Our Lady of Częstochowa, a 4-foot (1.2-meter) Gothic painting depicting the Virgin Mary.
Explore the sanctuary with your guide, learning about the history of the painting which, according to legend, was completed on a tabletop built by Jesus himself. Admire the eclectic votive offerings at the shrine, which attracts more than 14,000 pilgrims per year, that range from flowers and candles to swords and sceptres.
Following lunch, you’ll return to Krakow in early evening.
