Make your own way to the Waiheke ferry terminal, a short ferry ride from Auckland, where your driver is waiting for you. Traveling by air-conditioned minivan, set out to explore the island’s wineries as your guide fills you in on Waiheke’s winemaking history and explains the different varietals produced on the island.
During your tour, visit boutique wineries, where you can sample a variety of red and white wines such as cabernet sauvignon, merlot, chardonnay, and pinot gris. At one of the wineries, enjoy a delicious lunch platter including local delicacies such as fresh seafood, meats, cheeses, and vegetables. Make a final stop at a microbrewery to learn more about the island’s growing craft beer production and sample a glass or two.
At the end of the tour, you are dropped back at the ferry terminal to catch your boat back to Auckland.
