Meet a driver at your Hualien hotel and then board a climate-controlled vehicle for the trip to Taroko National Park. Your first sight of the national park is the soaring rock at Qingshui Cliff, where you can get a glimpse of the traditional fishing culture that still thrives on Taiwan’s coast. From there, start hiking on the Shakadang Trail, which follows a bright blue stream and a series of sedimentary rocks. Continue to Eternal Spring Shrine and Swallow Grotto, among Taroko Gorge’s most beloved spots, donning a helmet for protection against falling rocks.
