Takhini River Summer Camping

Travelers will arrive at Muktuk Adventures at day one of the tour. They will stay for the first night at our unique location. On the second day we will shuttle to our take in point at Kusawa Lake about 1 hour drive from Muktuk. From there we will canoe down the Takhini River back to the Muktuk Adventures Lodge. We will be camping along the shores for 3 nights. Once back at Muktuk Adventures there will be one more night at our lodge.

Why take this tour?
This Adventures has a little bit of everything. There will be a short section of whitewater , which also can be easily portaged. Most the river is easy to paddle with amazing views. The peace and quiet is surreal if you never experience it. Our adventures will only be with small groups of no more than 4 boats. Our river guides are certified and experienced. Wildlife in the Ibex valley is abundant and there is a change to see some bears, beavers, eagle, moose or more along the way. And of course it would not be a Muktuk Adventure if there would not be at least one dog joining the adventure.

You will learn what it takes to be a musher while exploring the Yukon back country with your own team of up to six huskies. If you don’t have enough time to enjoy a multi-day excursion, we also offer day trips. In addition to that, you’re welcome to visit us anytime and enjoy free dog kisses!
