A Swiss disappointment!!!
It is a normal open ticket that allows you to get on and off during the day to visit cute little towns, but in the end they are all the same and we have so many of them in Italy!!! You can also do part of the route by boat, which by the way has 1st class on top and second class below where everyone is packed like sardines!!!! The most beautiful thing to see was Bern, but you can go there with a normal train directly and maybe you spend less!!! Nothing to do with the Bernina Express! Shall we talk about the internet connection then?? Switzerland is outside the EU … watch out! A real rip-off! In no time at all I found myself without data (so no Google Maps) and with Tim I WAS NOT ABLE TO SPEAK TO A SINGLE DAMN OPERATOR!! I loaded a full 65€ on my phone but not even half a gigabyte!!!! I do not recommend it.
Not worth the money
The trip was okay. Meeting time and location was changed. We were made aware yet mor inconvenient. Lorenzo was nice bout not very informative. There were o lyrics 4 English speaking people on the tour. He catered to the Italian speaking people. Not enough time in Interlaken. Only 1 and 1/2 hours. Not worth the money
leisure trip
The agency we rely on for all foreign bookings made reservations for us. We departed from Domodossola on the 7:58 train. We were comfortable even in second class. We arrived in Bern, then we went up to Spiez, from there we took the boat on Lake Thun, which was included in the price. We wandered a bit around Thun and finally took the train back to Domodossola. You can get on and off the train as many times as you want.
Illusion
After doing the Bernina Red Train last year and reading reviews on other sites, I came across a trip of hope ..... if you take a reasoned at 8.00 in the morning where you live, you save a lot 'as you spend in the dark most of the journey in overloaded wagons .... bad experience
Disappointing experience
Started with the green train of the Alps from Domodossola. The first hour all tunnels (other than breathtaking views...), in one of the stations passengers were invited to transfer to the cars behind because the bragging cars proceeded to another destination so, they continued the journey standing. I stress that the ticket costs 77 euros including a boat ride. On the lake there was no boat so after taking the walk along the lake you took the train towards Domodossola. Disappointing experience!
