Sugarloaf Mountain Climbing Trail

Summary

One of the most fantastic climbs in Rio is the Costão do Pão de Açúcar. No previous knowledge of mountaineering is needed, just a lot of willingness to face the long climb and the climbing sections. The ascent is partly on a trail, partly on easy climbs by rock cliffs, with a small more vertical climbing section, of about 20 meters, where all the necessary safety equipment will be used: ropes, chairs, helmet and carabiners. Don't worry, our guides know the place like the back of their hand and will assist you in this adventure. All activity, between climbing and descending, lasts an average of 4 hours depending on the size of the group. The start must be between 13 and 14h and we follow trails, rock cliffs and short sections of climbing, passing by the famous Philosopher's Stone at 350m in height. All without haste so you have time to enjoy everything! After reaching the summit and a well-deserved rest, the descent is partly by cable car (free of charge), partly by trail. A walk to fill your eyes, with landscapes only seen by the adventurers who follow this path! Make sure it will be an unforgettable ride!
