Story of Bossanova: Rhythm and soul of Rio
Tour info
Why take this tour?
Follow the voice of Priscila, a charming Carioca who will take you to explore one of most famous beaches on earth, the Ipanema Beach. Starting from the best spot to watch the sunset in town, the "pedra do arpoador", you will learn about the origins and the musicians who created bossa nova. As you walk, you will hear that Priscila can´t really sing, but she charmingly tries to make you relate to some of the best known bossa nova songs. The walk will take you to the park of the girl from Ipanema, where you will get to know the legend of the two brothers from the hill of Vidigal, who inspired Chico Duarte to write a song. After that, you'll get to learn about the similarities between bossa nova and samba, especially its unique instruments. Also, you will discover the story of Tom Jombin as you admire his monument.
