Your Kona SUP lesson begins near Kahalu’u Bay when you meet your instructor at a surf shop, where you’ll briefly receive an introduction on the basics of stand up paddling.
You’ll next head across to Kahalu’u Bay, and listen as your instructor explains how to properly paddle and maneuver your board. With its gentle waves and protected cove, this beach is one of the best spots on the Big Island for beginner surfers and paddlers, and by the end of the 2-hour paddleboarding lesson, you’ll be hooked on the feeling of casually floating and a paddling above the reef.
