While your ship is in St. Petersburg, meet your guide at the portside and hop inside your shared, air-conditioned minivan.
Then, travel through the city’s elegant streets to the Nikholaevsky Palace, the venue for your show. Built in 1861, this palace was one of the last designed for Russia’s imperial family and boasts a neo-classical façade and grand interior famous for its ornate main staircase.
On arrival, enter the palace and take a seat in one of the beautiful halls for the show. Join the applause as the curtain rises, and immerse yourself in the fast-paced folklore extravaganza.
Be swept up by songs, music, and dance performed by artistes in traditional, richly decorated costumes. Watch as Cossack troupes perform squat-and-kick jumps and other incredible moves, enjoy melodious Russian folk songs such as ‘Kalinka’ and ‘Katyusha,’ and see lyrical folk ballet dances from northern Russia and other regions.
During the 30-minute intermission, enjoy canapés with red and black caviar, ham, cheeses, and fruits, served with vodka, Champagne, sodas, and juices, and accompanied by music from a classical quartet.
After the show, return to your minivan, and finish your evening with a drop-off at the cruise port.
