Summary

Meet in central Reykjavik and hop on board a "super Jeep," which seats no more than 15 and has monster tires that measure upward of 38 inches (95 centimeters) tall. Once settled in, travel out of the city in search of the northern lights. Your guide takes stock of weather reports and other variables to find the best locations from which to view the lights. Drive along the Icelandic countryside to secluded locations buses can’t get to, including mountaintops. Listen as your guide tells you about the science behind the northern lights phenomenon, and why Iceland is one of the world’s most accessible places to see it. Stop for photos ops if you choose. Your guide will take photos and show you how to set your camera to capture the lights. Enjoy a snack of biscuits, hot chocolate, and Icelandic liquor. Your evening tour concludes with a drop-off back in central Reykjavik.
