After hotel pickup in Auckland, relax as your small group travels to Coromandel.
Stop at Driving Creek Railway and Potteries to board New Zealand’s only narrow-gauge mountain railway, which journeys through native kauri forest, tunnels, and viaducts. Disembark at a mountaintop viewing station and enjoy views of the Hauraki Gulf below.
Follow your guide on a short walk through the kauri trees, then continue by car across the mountains to Hot Water Beach. Have lunch at a local café, then dig your own natural hot spring pool in the golden sand, where thermal waters bubble up at low tide.
Wind down at nearby Cathedral Cove, an aptly named cavern flooded by the Pacific Ocean. If conditions allow, walk to the arched rock, taking care on the uneven terrain (good walking shoes are required).
Your tour ends with an evening return to your Auckland hotel.
