After hotel pickup in the morning by coach, your day trip starts with the drive toward the Great Wall of China, stopping on the way at the Ming Tombs, located about an hour from the city. These 13 tombs hold the remains of Ming dynasty emperors, dating back to the 15th century.
Spend one hour here touring the site, and then stop by a jade gallery for 45 minutes for a look at jade carving, an important Chinese custom. At a restaurant inside the gallery, enjoy a Chinese lunch before continuing your tour to the Great Wall at Badaling. You have 1.5 hours here to hike along this popular section of the wall, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
On the way back to Beijing, make a stop at a tea house for a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. Then return to the city for hotel drop-off to end your tour (hotels within the second ring road only).
