The Accademia Gallery—home to Michelangelo’s David, the legendary Renaissance sculpture— is at the top of every Florence itinerary. But with these VIP tickets, you’ll skip the long entrance lines and enter the museum directly.
Explore on your own, taking time to visit paintings by other Renaissance masters like Botticelli and Filippino Lippi, and masterworks from the Middle Ages to the 17th century. You can also make a stop at the on-site Museum of Musical Instruments, where you’ll find intriguing exhibits of antique stringed instruments.
Many museum-goers head straight to Michelangelo’s larger-than-life, world-famous marble warrior David, which he completed while he was still in his twenties. But don’t forget to check out Michelangelo’s other sculptures on view, including the unfinished work San Matteo, from 1506.
There’s also the Hall of Prisoners, where his innovative Prigioni series is housed. Michelangelo’s talent is on full display with these four marble men struggling to free themselves from blocks of white marble. You can take time to view the works at your leisure, and spend as much time as you’d like before leaving the museum.
