The Mangart Saddle is a popular touring ski spot!
The ascent on the Mangart Road starts at the turning on the Mangart road from the Bovec-Predel road (this can also be an alternative meeting point). Later we split off from the road and climb the right bank of the Mangart stream to the Mangart mountain.
From there, ascending the ravine, we slowly get back on the Mangart road, which we leave a few more times, especially in the area of the last tunnel. Everything is done to come on the top on the shortest, safest way!
When we arrive at the Mangart saddle, we enjoy the beautiful view and spend some time snacking and resting. Then we prepare to descend back to the valley. Descend runs along the same path as we climbed to the top - in the area of the Mangart saddle it opens up to a vast open slopes, offering plenty space for beautiful skiing, and later we descend into a sparse forest where we ski back down to the starting point by meandering around the tree trunks.
