Shore excursion: Russian Family Dinner with Locals at a St. Petersburg Home

Begin your authentic St. Petersburg experience by meeting your guide outside the cruise port at 7pm. Climb into a comfortable tour vehicle and take off for a sightseeing drive through the city, including some of the local neighborhoods. See some of the famous Soviet-era buildings, constructed as temporary housing but still in use today. Cruise through the wealthiest areas of the city, where glitz and glamour are on display, on the way to a typical neighborhood.

Through your guide's commentary, learn about the different socioeconomic classes in St. Petersburg and the struggles that average Russian citizens face. Arrive at a local family's home around 8pm, where you will sit down for a traditional dinner. The family will fill you in on their lifestyle, as well as Russian traditions and culture. 

Say your goodbyes and head back to the cruise port for drop-off around 10:30pm.

This 3.5-hour dinner tour is a great opportunity to experience the Russian way of living and get a deeper understanding of the Russian culture. The tour starts with a drive through a typical residential area where you will see how ordinary people live, understand what their main concerns are and hear about their problems. Your guide will answer your questions about modern everyday life. After getting a comprehensive insight into the local life you will have a chance to meet one of the Russian families in person and have a delicious Russian dinner with them.
