Shore Excursion: Private Day Trip to Peninsula Valdes from Puerto Madryn

Begin your 7-hour private tour with pickup at Puerto Madryn, after which you will climb into a private tour vehicle with your guide and group. Head out of town and enjoy the scenery during the 19-mile (30-km) drive to Peninsula Valdés.

Enter the region through the Isthmus Carlos Ameghino, stopping at the interpretation center, which will provide you with some background on the area. Learn about the history of the peninsula, as well as some information about the sea birds and fauna that inhabit the region. Spend about 1.5 hours there before continuing on to Caleta Valdés, where you will get views of the only continental colony of elephant seals, as well as the creek and the resident penguins. The tour's last stop is the Puerto Piramides and its village to see the sea lion colony.
