Why take this tour?

Enjoy a truly magical day shore excursion from Bari to two awe-inspiring tourist destinations. Matera: This town has two old districts called Sassi (meaning stones) that in 1993 were declared a world heritage site because they represent "the most outstanding, intact example of a troglodyte settlement in the Mediterranean region, perfectly adapted to its terrain and ecosystem". Owing to its timeless setting this town of stone has been the backdrop for several movies including Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of Christ”. Alberobello: The historic centre of this town is also a Wold Heritage site due to the existence of its’ trulli, of which there are about 1,500. These unique buildings with conical roofs are made of dry stone (without mortar) and have survived intact and fully functional up to the present day. On this tour you will find out about the history, architecture and the mystery and symbolism of their finials. You will love the atmosphere of this fairytale hamlet.
