This 4x4 tour takes you into the heart of the coffee growing mountains of Timor Leste, stopping at the Australian/Timor War memorial in Dare, we visit the Memorial Museum and the Memorial School, meeting some of the local students who have benefited from this project.
The next stop is in Aileu one of the small hillside towns and visiting memorials from WW2 and the later resistance fight against Indonesia. Take a stroll through the lively and colourful markets, showcasing locally made tais fabrics.
You will have a special lunch from the hospitality training kitchen at the Project Montana HQ where you will be amazed at the outstanding community work they are doing with the disadvantage youth. A guided tour of the centre will be provided by one of their team members.
After enjoying your break in the cool highlands, head across the mountains and down into to the agricultural village of Seloi Criek with its beautiful market gardens, rice paddies and lake that the village surrounds. You will stop at a number of locations in the area for photos and a chance to talk with the local villagers, before winding your way down the mountains into Dili traveling along the mighty Comoro River.
