A quick water taxi ride allows you to explore the heart of the park including visiting the famous Tonga Island seals in the morning. Start with a scenic ride on our Water Taxi into the heart of the national park. Explore the surrounding coastline by kayak paddling past Tonga Island. Observe the antics of the resident New Zealand Fur Seals Kekeno and watch out for little Blue Penguins too! You will have ample time to spend with the playful Kekeno who call the island home. This short (1 & 1/2 hrs kayaking) but sweet taste of the Abel Tasman allows time to soak up the coastline in the heart of the park. Choose to return to Marahau by 1.30pm or stay in the park and relax at a beach arriving back at 4.30pm.
