Santiago Metropolitan Cathedral Tour

The visit to the bell towers of the Metropolitan Cathedral was a very exciting experience. Seeing it from the base and climbing almost to the top gives a different perspective of how to see Santiago and its historic center. Ideal for a high-altitude experience where your vertigo is put to the test, even more so with sturdy stairs and handrails that make you connect modernity with the passage of time of the cathedral. Brandon, our tour guide, was very approachable in giving us an almost personalized tour; he knew a lot of history about Chile, the cathedral, and the process that its construction and its bell towers underwent. He related the historical data to the ones I also have, and they corresponded to documented data and also to the correct people; for a history buff, that is a valuable treasure because it helps you relate historical processes with the history of the church in Chile. We were accompanied by a little cat, Rominina, who joined us from the base to the top, ideal for a date and to put your fear of heights to the test. It helps you see the Plaza de Armas in a different way, and how it has changed along with Chile.

My boyfriend won a visit to the bell towers of the cathedral through an Instagram contest. The experience is very nice; our guide, Brandon, was very kind, knew the historical, architectural, design, and structural data super well, explained the history of the cathedral to us at all times, helped us move around the stairs, was patient, and I was surprised by how well he handles the history and important data of the entire sector where the cathedral is located; he has good language skills and everything he was telling us was understood super well. The experience and the treatment were very good; I had a super good impression for being the first time I participated in an experience like this. I highly recommend it, and it is a good outing to learn about part of the history of our downtown and our cathedral. Also, to add for those who like kittens, Rominina, one of the cathedral's cats, accompanied us during the tour and bravely showed us how she climbed without fear up to the bell towers; without a doubt, a very nice experience and recommended for those who enjoy learning about the history of our country.
