San Sebastian: Cider and the Basque Sea Factory

After pickup at your San Sebastián hotel in the morning, travel by minivan up the coast to the seaport town of Pasaia, home to the Albaola museum, known as ‘The Sea Factory of the Basques.’ Here you can watch expert carpenters recreating an authentic replica of the San Juan Galleon, a 16th-century whaling ship. Watch this unique piece of seafaring history brought back to life before your eyes, and learn about the important maritime heritage of Basque Country through museum displays.

Continue on to the Petritegi Cider House to taste the flavors of beautiful Gipuzkoa province. Savor a 3-course lunch of typical Basque dishes like cod omelets, steak, and Idiazabal cheese with walnuts, accompanied by unlimited cider brewed on-site using traditional barrel methods down in the tavern’s cellar.

Relax and enjoy the scenery on the return drive to you San Sebastián hotel in the afternoon. Tour size is limited to 15 people for a more personalized, small-group experience.
