Safari Tour - Shepherd's Hut and Cheese Making Process

Join us for an unforgettable adventure across Crete, where you'll witness panoramic views, visit charming villages, and experience the life of a traditional Cretan shepherd. In small groups of 6-8 people per vehicle, you’ll explore a “Mitato” shepherd’s hut and immerse yourself in the local way of life. 
Our journey starts in Rethymnon, heading southeast toward Milopotamos, passing through lush landscapes with fresh aromas and stunning views. We’ll visit the historic Halepa Monastery, which once sheltered Cretan rebels during civil wars.
Next, we’ll venture off-road toward the Mitato. At the shepherd’s hut, you’ll learn about the shepherd’s lifestyle and the art of cheese-making.
We’ll conclude our adventure with a delicious lunch at a traditional tavern in Axos village, where you’ll enjoy local food and wine, along with genuine Cretan hospitality. After lunch, take some time to relax with a coffee before we head back to Rethymnon.
