Why take this tour?

Royal Miru District: Full Day Private Hike is an archaeological field trip that explores the northwestern region of the island, the abandoned territories of the aristocratic Miru clan in pre-Christian times. It's an intense hike over a section of Rapa Nui that is rarely visited by tourists. We see ruins of ancient settlements, fallen moai, ahu, caves and petroglyphs. This field trip is based on scientific, ethnographic and historical evidence supplemented by a deep knowledge of our oral tradition. RPS Experiences is the tourism wing of the Rapanui Pioneers Society, a research and educational organization formed by thoroughly experienced members. Especially recomended for travelers that prefer to know the island at the true human scale, hiking and trekking. Hiking experience recommended. Private service. Limited availability.
