Reykjavik Shopping Tour

The first location visited is Reykjavik´s oldest shopping-street Laugavegurinn was for long time the cities trendiest street for shopping café culture and a place where artists resided and lived. The guide gives some historic overview of Laugavegurinn that now hosts a number of souvenir shops, bars and hotels are in the area. At Laugavegurinn we visit the Gilbert watch store that produces and sells the only designer watch sold in a single store in the whole world and worn by the likes of: Yoko Ono, Ben Stiller and the Dalai Lama. The second place visited is: Kringlan shopping-mall or Smárinn shopping-mall. In the shopping malls stores that can be visited sell Icelandic outdoor clothing such as: 66N, Cintamani, Icewear and Don Cano. In the supermarkets, the unique Icelandic food products which can be purchased are: dilled and smoked salmon and hard-fish (Icelandic fish jerky). Introduction on Icelandic milk products such as skyr.
