Meet your guide and small group in the morning at your Rio Hotel (pickup available for South Zone hotels only). Board your minivan, find a comfortable seat and begin your comprehensive tour of Rio.
An ascent of Corcovado is the day's first stop. Climb aboard a van to travel through the Tijuca Rainforest, reaching the top of Corcovado to see the Christ the Redeemer Statue, which stands 125 feet (38 meters) high. Spend 45 minutes admiring the views, taking photos, and perusing the gift shop.
Move on to the quaint neighborhood of Santa Teresa. One of the city's oldest neighborhoods, it is now a hot spot for art galleries, street art, and charming eateries. Visit the famous Selarón Steps, created by artist Jorge Selarón and featured in a Snoop Dogg music video in 2002. Spend a short time exploring on your own before heading back to your hotel or continuing to Sugar Loaf mountain (if option selected).
Back in the minivan, head for the Urca neighborhood, the departure point for your trip to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain. During the 2-part ride aboard a glassed-in cable car, stop at Urca Hill (elevation 700 ft/215 m) for great views of surrounding landmarks like Guanabara Bay and the Rio-Niterói Bridge. Continue to the top of Sugar Loaf to admire 360-degree views of the city and spread out below you, including Copacabana and the Santa Cruz Fortress. Spend 45 minutes reveling in the scenery before heading back to the van for drop-off back at your hotel.
