An adventure in the woods, on the trail of deer and wild animals, takes you to one of the oldest monasteries on the island, all accompanied by unique views and unforgettable scents.
It starts from one of the most beautiful sandy bays on the island and, walking on an easy path flanked by maritime pines, you arrive at a female monastery: the Ipseni monastery, dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin and one of the oldest in the island. Almost two centuries after its foundation it transforms from "man" to "woman" and is restored. To date, a new church is about to be completed alongside and a Via Crucis leads to a panoramic point over the whole area. From Ipseni then begins a pleasant descent towards Glystra accompanied by an enchanting panorama and the possibility of meeting the famous Dama-Dama deer: symbol of the island. After 13 km of walking
and 370m of difference in altitude you will find yourself at the starting point: the bay of Glystra. A nice swim in the crystal clear sea is more than deserved after this beautiful walk.
