Meet your driver within walking distance of the Belize City cruise port, and leave the urban bustle behind as you head for the tiny but diverse country’s lush, forested region. Begin with a short 30-minute hike to reach the entrance to an extensive cave system, considered by the ancient Mayan people to be a portal to the underworld.
Climb aboard an inner tube, strap on a safety helmet and head lamp, and launch onto the currents of the Caves Branch River. As you float through narrow passageways and cathedral-like chambers, imagine thousands of years of history contained within the crystal-studded rock walls while the light from your headlamp flickers across mysterious formations.
After emerging from the cave, look to the skies for your high-flying zipline adventure. Gear up with safety equipment including a harness, helmet, and hand and body gears, and take a short walk to reach the first of eight elevated platforms equipped with handrails. Clip on to double cables strong enough to hold 2,000 lbs (907 kg), and, when you're ready, let go to soar through Belize’s magnificent rain forest. The cables reach heights of up 85 feet (26 meters) and lengths of 1,200 feet (366 meters) for an unforgettable adrenaline boost. Experienced guides are on hand the whole time to ensure your safety.
When you reach the last platform, rappel back down to the forest floor. Once you catch your breath, relax on the return drive to Belize City and your waiting cruise ship.
